And yet it's 2024 and still no movement. This was just a way to drive up real estate in Hamilton by advertising it way ahead of time. Cons.

The artist rendition of the buildings worry me. I hope our city can attract high quality builders to invest in the area. Not just one builder with a master plan (like the horrible City Place condos in Toronto). The project should be comprised of multiple builders with creative visions to revitalize the West Harbour. Vancouver's Coal Harbour and even Yaletown (False Creek) development would be good example of how redevelopment can transform the neighbourhood.

Having lived in GTA for a few years, I must say Hamilton's West Harbour (Pier 4 and Bayfront Park especially) is such a hidden gem. I am so glad there is a redevelopment plan to one of the best waterfront in the Golden Horseshoe. My only concern is I hope City of Hamilton can be very "picky" and strict on the kind of building that is allowed in this prime real estate with stunning views. I don't want to see cookie cutter cheap woodframe 4-storey condos due to price point. The area should be marketed as prime mixed-use development for some high-end constructions.
